What is Twin Beer? Twin Beer is a website devoted to the world of craft beer. It is one part beer blog and one part an ever expanding beer book. It is written and maintained by twin brothers, Kelly and Russ Phillips. Kelly is in Sweden and Russ is in the USA. This whole thing came about as a way to share beer information/reviews/news between the two of us. The founders of Twin Beer, Kelly and Russ Phillps are identical twins. Kelly lives in Stockholm, Sweden and Russ lives in Easthampton, Massachusetts. They have access to different beers and live in two totally different drinking cultures. That's kind of fun and interesting, well we hope anyways! Twin Beer is different and unique because the information is coming at you from two locations in the world by two people with similar personalities yet different tastes in beer. It is our goal to provide information about beer from a global perspective.
I developed a love for beer in high school when all my friends were drinking malt liquor I was drinking Guinness. A two-month long trip to Europe before college ruined keg parties for years. After college I worked at a large beer distributor and gained a true love for the diversity in the world of beer. Next came home brewing and ultimately total beer geekness. I live in Easthampton, Massachusetts and am working on building a pub in my basement. I'm active on BeerAdvocate as indiapaleale What is the Swedish twin's story?
I've spent the last 15 years on and off in Sweden, eventually getting married and settling down here. The beer scene is obviously not what it is where Russ lives, but there is a lively pub culture with the likes of Akkurat and other beer bars are paving the way for a new found interest in good beer here in Sweden. Microbreweries are springing up, and the state run liquor store is opening up to things beyond 7,2% lager in cans. Hopefully my knowledge will improve with this website, since Russ is a bit ahead of me...then again he doesn't know how to build websites...so...
Where do you get your beer from?
Cheers! Skål! |
